One of my favorite fairs was the Richmond(?) Fair. This was where us kids would play for hours on the bleachers. Dad and Mom always let us walk to that little store by the bleachers so we could pick a treat; Ann would get a dip stick, Tyler got a parachute man to drop from the top of the bleachers, and I can't remember what I always chose! One year, while playing on the bleachers, we were teasing Kimberly about being Tyler's (the kid with blonde hair who was there with his grandpa and brother) girlfriend. This Kimberly girl always had a bit of a temper and she turned around and kicked Tenille Tolman in the shin pretty hard. We were quick to tattle and Kimberly was grounded to stay in their cattle isle!
We hit the jAcKpOt at this fair one year! We found some "abandoned" boxes of what we referred to as paddle boards. We played with this pile of boards for a little while and soon came up with the awesome idea of selling them! (seriously, let's just claim these as ours to sell!) SO funny that we actually made a few bucks from these, "spank your kids' butts with one of these paddle boards!" and "you can use it as a tray!" Of course, we made sure to bring some of these home with us, too!
Ah, Richmond! That's where mom found a couple of sweatshirts sitting on the bleachers that she ended up claiming! Lacy, I think you rotated between something/anything chocolate and a dip stick. Sometimes we'd get that plastic bubble stuff where you would put plastic on the end of a straw and blow bubbles-quite the novelty! Kimberly's boyfriend's name was Timothy (and for some reason I remember him having an older brother but can't recall his name). I used to remember his grandpa's last name but can't anymore-dad probably could tell us.
